OpenComputerUse
by OpenComputerUse (open source) · Computer-use MCP server
What it does on its own
Let any MCP agent control apps in the background (click, type, screenshots, UI tree) without stealing your pointer.
Show HN ~2026-10-07. MCP tools include start_session, screenshot, click, type_text, phone/simulator sessions.
Jobs you can hire it for
- Drive a desktop app from my coding agent
- Automate UI work without taking focus
- Attach computer-use to Claude or Cursor via MCP
- Job page: Run a personal AI agent on my own computer
- Job page: Host my AI agent in a cloud sandbox
- Job page: Act inside one Mac window for me
How to start
- On Mac: brew tap + brew trust + brew install --cask opencomputeruse (see README), or download the DMG.
- Add `opencomputeruse mcp` to your MCP client (Claude, Cursor, etc.).
- Grant OS accessibility/screen permissions when asked.
- Start a session on an app and let the agent drive it in the background; approve risky steps in your client.
